The Recruiting & Onboarding Specialist combines recruitment responsibilities with broader HR functions. This role is responsible for full-cycle recruitment, including sourcing, screening, interviewing, new hire integration, writing or revising job descriptions, and hiring, while also supporting HR generalist duties like training and development, policies and procedures, and ensuring compliance with all HR policies and employment laws.

Duties/Responsibilities:
- Consults with hiring managers to understand the requirements, duties, and qualifications desired for the specified vacant position(s).
- Collects and analyzes data to maintain current understanding of fair and competitive market salaries, candidate availability, and demand for candidates in particular fields.
- Consult data and records to identify and select potential candidates for vacant positions.
- Screens candidates select qualified and interested candidates for the interviewing phase and then connect viable candidates with hiring managers.
- Schedule background and pre-employment drug screening.
- Counsel’s candidates on the interview and hiring process.
- Maintain social media accounts (LinkedIn)
- Follows up with hiring managers after the interview process to determine whether a placement can be made; collects feedback when placement is unsuccessful.
- Maintains and ensures compliance with applicable equal employment opportunity (EEO) and related employment laws and regulations.
- Assist with new hire orientation when necessary and perform office tours as well as introducing new team members.
- Assist with training and development requirements, schedule new hires for mandatory training.
- Email relevant training links and provide login information for company accounts.
- Connect new hires with IT personnel for assistance with hardware/software set up.
- Assist employees with ADP Workforce Now (Time & Attendance/payroll)
- Maintaining employee records and HR databases.
- Assist with HR-related projects and initiatives.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Required Skills/Abilities:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with aptitude in conducting interviews.
- Knowledge of recruitment processes and best practices.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Ability to build rapport with employees and managers.
- Thorough understanding of EEO, ADA, and other related employment laws and guidelines.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
- Experience with HRIS systems and other HR software, ADP Workforce experience is a plus.
Education and Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Psychology, or related field required.
- At least five years of human resources recruitment and generalist experience required.
- SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP preferred.
- SHRM’s Talent Acquisition Specialty Credential a plus.
Physical Requirements:
- Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.
