Scale Manager
F&G Recycling
Position Summary:
The Scale Manager is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and performance of the company's scale functions across multiple locations. This role serves as the primary liaison between the Finance Department, Operations, and Scale Operators, ensuring accurate data collection, reporting, customer service, and billing support. The Scale Manager will supervise and support Scale Operators, coordinate staffing, training, and coverage, promote operational consistency, and ensure compliance with company policies and procedures. This position will work closely with our Finance Team, Directors, Site Managers, and other operational leaders to support efficient transfer station and collection operations. This position requires availability during scale operating hours to provide operational support as needed, as well as the flexibility to work occasional Saturdays based on business needs.
Compensation: $75,000-$85,000

Your Role:
- Oversee daily scale operations to ensure accurate and timely processing of inbound and outbound material transactions
- Ensure scale tickets, customer information, pricing, and transaction records are entered accurately and consistently
- Monitor scale system performance and work with Finance and IT to resolve issues
- Standardize scale house procedures and promote best practices across multiple locations/companies
- Assist with troubleshooting operations and customer service issues related to the scale
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to Scale Operators
- Coordinate staffing schedules and assist with vacation coverage and shift assignments
- Train new Scale Operators and provide ongoing coaching and development
- Serve as a resource for Scale Operators regarding policies, procedures, and operational questions
- Assist Directors and Site Managers with employee performance management and operational oversight
- Participate in the hiring and interview process for Scale Operators
- Serve as primary liaison between the Scale Operators and the Finance department
- Work closely with the Finance team to ensure accurate reporting, billing, customer accounts, and transaction reconciliation
- Assist with identifying and correcting discrepancies related to scale transactions and customer invoicing
- Support month- and year-end reporting processes as needed
- Generate operational reports and provide data analysis to management
- Partner closely with Directors, Site Managers, and operational leadership to support business objectives
- Assist with implementing operational improvements and process enhancements
- Maintain confidentiality of company and customer information
- Maintains reasonable, regular, punctual attendance consistent with Company policies, the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), the Family and Medical Leave Act, and other federal, state, and local standards
- Adapts to changing duties, as required, based on business needs

Requirements:
- High School Diploma or GED
- 3-5 years of experience in scale operations, waste and recycling, transportation, logistics, or related operations
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Must be available during scale operating hours.
- Ability to work occasional Saturdays based on business needs.
