RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Deliver accurate, high-quality nuclear medicine imaging while continually developing skills and contributing to a positive, professional department environment.
  • Ensure full compliance with hospital policies, state regulations, and accreditation standards.
  • Assist physicians during imaging procedures and provide safe, compassionate care for every patient.
  • Support accreditation efforts and participate in departmental quality initiatives.
  • Participate in on-call rotations, including dose preparation within the hot lab.
  • Establish IV access and administer radiopharmaceuticals safely and accurately.
  • Enter and maintain precise patient and procedure information in imaging and hospital computer systems.
  • Follow strict radiation safety protocols, complete routine QC procedures, and ensure proper storage, monitoring, and disposal of radioactive materials.





QUALIFICATIONS:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree from an accredited AMA-approved Nuclear Medicine program required
  • 4–6 years of relevant experience required
  • Demonstrated ability to independently perform complex imaging procedures
  • Provides mentorship and serves as a resource to less experienced technologists
  • Strong proficiency in imaging software, clinical protocols, and radioactive dose calculation
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with patients, families, and healthcare staff
  • Ability to interpret technical documents, follow detailed protocols, and accurately complete documentation
  • Strong math skills to calculate dosages, decay factors, and quantitative imaging data
  • Demonstrates integrity, reliability, and adherence to professional and organizational standards
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to evaluate situations, collect data, and make sound clinical decisions
  • Commitment to continuing education and adapting to new technology and processes
  • ARDMS or ARRT (Nuclear Medicine)
  • NMTCB (Nuclear Medicine Technologist)
