Job Title: Research Associate II - PHCS

Job Description

As a Research Associate II, you will conduct research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experimentation to support various projects. Your role requires technical expertise, discretion in designing experiments, and the ability to interpret results. You will prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses, and present findings within the department and project teams. You will maintain high professional standards by staying updated with scientific literature and may participate in conferences and professional societies. Your work will adhere to company policies and procedures for GMP, GLP, and Design Control.

Responsibilities

  • Design experimental protocols with minimal supervision.
  • Execute bench experiments, make detailed observations, and analyze data.
  • Prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses.
  • Maintain complete and accurate laboratory documentation and electronic files.
  • Receive general directions on routine work and detailed instructions on new assignments.
  • Suggest improvements to work processes and the laboratory environment.
  • Assist in identifying and practicing patentable inventions.
  • Work on problems of diverse scope, requiring analysis of identifiable factors.
  • Exercise judgment within generally defined practices and policies to select methods and techniques.
  • Participate in cross-functional technical teams, such as failure investigation teams.
  • Contribute to team projects by suggesting creative solutions and providing input to project planning.
  • Train others in areas of expertise.
  • Troubleshoot problems and institute corrective actions.
  • Prepare and present experimental procedures and results in groups and project teams.
  • Monitor work to ensure quality and continuously promote Quality First Time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management.

Essential Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in science, such as chemistry or biology.
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in a laboratory setting.
  • Proficiency in basic and specialized laboratory techniques.
  • Ability to search scientific literature for specific information.
  • Skilled in using word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software applications.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Understanding of scientific principles, pathology, and development processes.
  • Hands-on wet lab experience.
  • Adaptability to move between different tasks and projects.
  • Experience in report writing, data analysis, and technical writing.

The role is based at the Oro Valley, Arizona site, known for its collaborative culture and supportive work environment. The site offers a beautiful desert setting near Tucson, with scenic views and hiking trails. The work involves assay development, reagent production, and molecular diagnostics, blending scientific rigor with creativity. Hours M-F 8a-5p.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Oro Valley, AZ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $27.00 - $27.00/hr.
