As a Fabrication Technician, you will leverage your expertise in AV technology to meticulously assemble and construct AV assemblies in line with approved drawings and specifications. Your role is crucial in ensuring that our AV systems are built with precision and delivered on time. You will stage, document, fabricate, and ready AV systems and racks in the AV Lab. You will also assist with AV-related equipment receiving and inventorying as required.
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Fabricate equipment based on drawings and work orders, including wiring and soldering of multi-conductor cables, wire harnessing, loading equipment racks, and installing rack AV components.
- Mastery of basic hand and power tools such as strippers, cutters, wrenches, soldering guns, saws, drills, and punch tools.
- Proficient in reading and interpreting wiring schematics for Control, Audio, Video, Data, and Power systems.
- Skilled in identifying and terminating common AV/Data connectors, including RJ-45, XLR, 3.5 mm, CATV, and terminal strips.
- Efficiently deliver fully assembled systems within budgeted hours.
- Utilize the internal cb20 system to track equipment, work hours, and progress notes throughout the fabrication process.
- Support ancillary warehouse activities including,
receiving AV equipment, staging and organizing AV hardware and preparing it for shipment or delivery
- Comply with all safety rules and regulations during site visits.
- Communicate effectively with project teams, including Project Managers, Engineers, and Supervisors, to resolve any technical or logistical issues impacting system delivery.
- Work with Field Installation team if/as needed to supplement additional scheduling needs to complete projects on schedule.
- Delivery of AV hardware or equipment to project sites as needed
- Various warehousing assistance related to AV equipment inventorying, receipt, staging, etc.
Required Skills:
- Demonstrated ability to safely handle and operate various hand and power tools.
- Strong understanding of AV wiring schematics and connector termination.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
Required Certifications:
- OSHA-30
- CTS (Certified Technology Specialist)
