ASSISTANT TEACHER

Harlan, Iowa Head Start

West Central Community Action Head Start Preschool seeks an Assistant Teacher to work in Harlan, Iowa.

Assistant Teachers are responsible for interacting with children, providing a variety of developmentally appropriate materials and activities for children and participate actively in the teaching team through communication, collaboration and curriculum planning.

Assistant Teachers must have the ability to work with children and families from various cultural, economic & social backgrounds.

Current valid driver's license, dependable transportation and ability to maintain current auto liability insurance are required for this position.

This is a 40-hour per week, 38-week per year position. Assistant Teachers are required to have completed High School or (GED).

Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education / Education or Child Development Accreditation preferred.

Previous experience in Early Childhood Education is strongly preferred.

The starting pay for this position is $15.39 per hour. Salary or rate is based on education level.

This classroom will be located at West Central Community Action Head Start, located at the Harlan Iowa Head Start Center.
