Tool and Die Maker | Delta Township, MI

Salary Range: $61,000 - $96,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We partner with manufacturers across Delta Township seeking Tool and Die Makers who want more than a lateral move. These companies hire intentionally, and we connect them with professionals ready for roles that fit.

Key Responsibilities

Design, build, and repair precision tools, dies, jigs, and fixtures.
Interpret blueprints, schematics, and 3D models for tooling specifications.
Operate and set up a variety of machine tools, including lathes, mills, grinders, and EDMs.
Perform precision measurements using instruments such as micrometers, calipers, and gauges.
Troubleshoot and diagnose issues related to tooling performance and failures.
Select and work with appropriate materials, including various metals and alloys.
Conduct preventative maintenance and calibration of tooling and equipment.

Recommended Qualifications

Proven experience as a Tool and Die Maker, including completion of an apprenticeship or equivalent
Proficiency in operating manual and CNC machining equipment (mills, lathes, grinders, EDM)
Expertise in reading and interpreting blueprints, schematics, and Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Strong understanding of metallurgy, heat treatment processes, and various tooling materials
Demonstrated ability to use precision measuring instruments (micrometers, calipers, height gauges)
Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills for complex tooling and production issues

Bonus Qualifications

Proficiency with CAD/CAM software (e.g., SolidWorks, Mastercam).
Experience operating CNC machining centers.
Strong troubleshooting and diagnostic skills for complex tooling and production issues.
Knowledge of Lean Manufacturing principles or continuous improvement methodologies.
Welding and fabrication experience relevant to tool and die repair.
