MGS has an exciting opportunity for a Youth Apprentice to join our MGS US Tooling team.

The Youth Apprentice supports the Tooling Department by assisting with basic machine operations, processes, and tools. The Youth Apprentice will gain a general understanding of how a tooling facility operates. Youth Apprentice must adhere to industry safety and security standards.

Below are additional duties and responsibilities:

• Know and follow all of the Company's safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
• Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
• Function as support personnel for the Tooling Department.
• Learn the basics of how the toolroom operates.
• Follow verbal and written instructions.
• Read machining technical drawings and work orders.
• Interpret machining symbols and procedures.
• Use hand tools.
• Maintain constant communication with supervisor with regards to all work assignments.
• Maintain shop organization on a daily basis.
• Follow guidelines as established per the Youth Apprenticeship guidelines.
• Any other duties as assigned.

A qualified Youth Apprentice candidate would fulfill these requirements:

• Current high school enrollment.
• Current enrollment in the youth apprenticeship program.
• Experience using basic hand tools
• Mechanically inclined
• Current or previous enrollment in technical education high school classes.
