MGS has an exciting opportunity for a Youth Apprentice to join our MGS US Tooling team.
The Youth Apprentice supports the Tooling Department by assisting with basic machine operations, processes, and tools. The Youth Apprentice will gain a general understanding of how a tooling facility operates. Youth Apprentice must adhere to industry safety and security standards.
Below are additional duties and responsibilities:
- Know and follow all of the Company's safety rules, such as safe work practices and standard operating procedures.
- Serve as a good role model to employees for safe work practices and behavior by conducting yourself professionally, keeping in mind your own safety and the safety of others.
- Function as support personnel for the Tooling Department.
- Learn the basics of how the toolroom operates.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Read machining technical drawings and work orders.
- Interpret machining symbols and procedures.
- Use hand tools.
- Maintain constant communication with supervisor with regards to all work assignments.
- Maintain shop organization on a daily basis.
- Follow guidelines as established per the Youth Apprenticeship guidelines.
- Any other duties as assigned.

A qualified Youth Apprentice candidate would fulfill these requirements:
- Current high school enrollment.
- Current enrollment in the youth apprenticeship program.
- Experience using basic hand tools
- Mechanically inclined
- Current or previous enrollment in technical education high school classes.
