Part Time Histology Technician - MOHS

Will vary depending on experience

Monday and Wednesday; 7:30am-3:00pm (Variable)
Job Description:
The Mohs Histology Technician works under the Mohs Surgeon preparing microscopic tissue samples and slides and performing tissue stains to assist the surgeon. This technician demonstrates proficiency and understanding of grossing, logging specimens, specimen prep, frozen section prep, staining of Mohs histology slides. He/she maintains a complete inventory of supplies, maintains neat and organized work areas, and continuously demonstrates quality control and compliance with all applicable CLIA Lab regulations.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS
EDUCATION
Preferred Education:
- Successful completion of an accredited histotechnician program with a background in biology or chemistry.
- Associate degree in a laboratory science or biology.
EXPERIENCE
Minimum Experience Preferred:
- One year in a general histology lab or a Mohs laboratory
Certifications/Licenses
The following licensure(s), certification(s), registration(s), etc., are preferred but not necessarily required for this position:
- Histology Technician (HT) or Histologist Laboratory Technologist (HTL) American Society of Clinical Pathology (ASCP) certification or eligible.
