Responsibilities:

  1. Route Planning and Coordination:

    • Create optimized transportation routes based on student locations, traffic conditions, and school schedules.
    • Ensure that routes are efficient, safe, and adhere to all relevant regulations and guidelines.
  2. Communication and Coordination:

    • Maintain constant communication with school administrators, parents, and drivers to relay important information and updates.
    • Monitor vehicle locations and respond promptly to any deviations from the established routes or delays.
  3. Driver Management:

    • Assign drivers to specific routes and vehicles based on availability, qualifications, and route compatibility.
    • Provide drivers with detailed route instructions, student information, and special requirements.
  4. Emergency Response:

    • Develop and implement emergency response procedures, including communication protocols and contingency plans.
    • Coordinate with relevant parties in the event of accidents, breakdowns, or other unexpected incidents.
  5. Data Management:

    • Maintain accurate records of route schedules, driver assignments, and student information.
    • Compile and analyze transportation data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and opportunities to enhance efficiency.
  6. Customer Service:

    • Address inquiries, concerns, and feedback from parents, schools, and drivers in a professional and courteous manner.
    • Actively seek ways to enhance the transportation experience for all stakeholders.
  7. Training and Compliance:

    • Ensure that drivers are familiar with safety protocols, regulations, and company policies.
    • Conduct regular training sessions for drivers to promote safe driving practices and excellent customer service.
  8. Problem Solving:

    • Identify and resolve operational challenges, such as route changes, vehicle maintenance issues, and scheduling conflicts.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent (some college coursework preferred).
  • Prior experience in dispatching, logistics, or transportation operations is a plus.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficiency in using dispatch software and GPS tracking systems.
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and handle stressful situations.
  • Familiarity with local traffic regulations and school transportation guidelines.
  • Problem-solving skills and a proactive approach to addressing issues.
  • Flexibility to work varying hours, including early mornings and occasional evenings.
