Job Description\n
American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a PACU position requiring a minimum of 2 years of surgical recovery experience, including pediatric and critical care backgrounds, with on-call availability.
\n \n Responsibilities\n
- Day shift schedule, 5x8-hour shifts (9:00–17:30)
- PACU unit within a hospital setting
- All surgical specialties except cardiac, including Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN cases
- Pediatric patient population included
- Experience recovering patients with nerve blocks, chest tubes, central lines, intubation, and A-lines required
- On-call responsibilities required
- Cross-coverage in Pre-Op required
- Candidates must reside more than 50 miles from the facility; local candidates are not accepted
- A facility-administered drug screen upon arrival is mandatory, including marijuana and CBD products; a positive result results in automatic cancellation with no exceptions
- 13-week contract
\n \n Requirements\n
- Active TX RN license or compact RN license currently in hand
- Current certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
- Minimum 2 years of PACU or surgical recovery experience preferred
- Experience with pediatric patients required
- Critical care experience strongly preferred
- Level II trauma experience preferred
- Experience recovering Plastics, Urology, Dental, and GYN surgical patients required
- Proficiency monitoring patients with nerve blocks, chest tube insertions, central lines, intubation, and A-lines required
- 2 supervisor references from within the last 3 years of employment required for consideration
