An opportunity is available for a skilled Registered Nurse with Operating Room experience to support a critical healthcare provider in Northern New Mexico on a contract basis. This role requires rapid availability to start within 710 days of offer acceptance, ensuring timely support to an acute care facility renowned for quality patient care.

Location: Chimayo, NM
This position is connected to a 47-bed acute care hospital that serves the Northern New Mexico region, staffed by approximately 300 healthcare professionals. The area around Chimayo offers a unique blend of small-town charm and natural beauty, with access to cultural landmarks and outdoor activities, making it an inviting place to live and work.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide high-quality perioperative nursing care in the operating room environment
  • Collaborate with surgical teams to ensure patient safety and effective procedure flow
  • Adhere to all clinical protocols and standards, including local and state nursing regulations
  • Maintain required documentation and support compliance with healthcare facility policies
  • Participate in orientation programs and ongoing education as scheduled

Qualifications / Desired Experience:

  • Active Registered Nurse license with operating room experience
  • Required certifications as per assignment submission; all credentials must be current and verifiable before starting
  • Willingness to comply with New Mexico state fingerprinting and background check procedures
  • Ability to start on short notice, within 710 days of offer acceptance
  • Candidates should reside at least 60 miles from the facility to be eligible as travel nurses

Additional Details:

  • Orientation occurs weekly, every Monday
  • Initial work period may include supervised practice during a 14-day waiver pending background clearance
  • Compliance with New Mexico Department of Health requirements is mandatory
