JOB DESCRIPTION
Position: Sanitation Crew Member – Night Shift
Department: Sanitation / Operations
FLSA Status: Non-exempt
Reports to: Sanitation Manager
Schedule: Night shift, typical evenings, nights, weekends, and some holidays as needed
Position Purpose and Key Accountability
As a Sanitation Crew Member, you will work on the production floor of our food manufacturing facility performing deep cleaning and sanitation of equipment and plant areas. To be successful in this position you must be a highly dependable team player, working closely with others to ensure the facility is cleaned and sanitized to food safety and quality standards before production begins.
Sanitation crew play a critical role in upholding Sevillo’s brand promise by maintaining a high level of food safety, sanitation, and audit readiness in our ready-to-eat food plant. You will perform a variety of sanitation duties including but not limited to cleaning and sanitizing production equipment, removing food residue and buildup, using sanitation chemicals and tools, and preparing the plant for safe food production.
To be successful in this role, you must be energetic and able to perform to a high standard in a dynamic, physically demanding environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Establish and maintain a strong professional working relationship with all co-workers and employees.

- Clean and sanitized production equipment includes conveyors, mixers, fillers, processing lines, and related components.
- Disassemble and reassemble equipment as required for deep cleaning.
- Remove food residue, buildup, and debris from equipment, floors, walls, drains, and other plant surfaces.
- Use high pressure hoses, foam systems, brushes, and other sanitation tools.
- Mix and use cleaning and sanitizing chemicals according to instructions and safety guidelines.
- Follow proper chemical concentrations, contact times, and application methods.
- Strictly adhere to established Sanitation Standard Operating Procedures and cleaning schedules.
- Demonstrate awareness and sense of urgency by reporting any food safety, quality, equipment, or workplace safety issues to management.
- Demonstrate and exemplify compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices and hygiene standards.
- Gain knowledge of, adhere to, and exemplify practices outlined in standard operating procedures.
- Work safely and carefully in compliance with workplace safety standards including lockout tagout and other required procedures.
- Adhere to SQF food safety and quality standards and procedures as trained.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, tools, and equipment, practicing clean as you go at all times.
- Other duties as assigned.
Experience and Education
- Required
High school diploma or equivalent. - Ability to read and understand basic instructions and safety information.
- Ability to work in a physically demanding industrial environment.
- Preferred
Experience working in food manufacturing sanitation or industrial cleaning. - Experience using pressure washers , or industrial cleaning equipment.
- Fluent in Spanish or willingness to learn basic operations Spanish.

Physical Requirements
- Must be able to lift and move items up to 50 lbs.
- Must be able to stand and walk for extended periods of time.
- Must be comfortable working in a food manufacturing environment with wet floors and strong cleaning chemical odors.
- Must be able to work in cold temperatures and refrigerated areas for extended periods of time.
- Must be able to work in humid and wet conditions.
- Must be able to work on ladders, platforms, or in tight spaces as required
