A dedicated Paraprofessional is needed to support a special education caseload in a school setting located in Shasta Lake, CA. This full-time, contract role offers approximately 30 hours per week, including one 15-minute paid break and a 30-minute unpaid lunch. The position is available ASAP through the end of the school year, with a strong possibility of renewal.
This role involves providing 1:1 support to a student within grades K through 12, with a focus on early childhood and elementary through high school levels. The ideal candidate will assist in fostering an inclusive learning environment tailored to meet the specific needs of the student, collaborating closely with educators and support staff to ensure appropriate accommodations and interventions are implemented.
Key Responsibilities:
- Deliver consistent, individualized support to a student with special education needs
- Assist with classroom activities, instruction, and behavioral management strategies
- Foster social, emotional, and academic growth by encouraging positive interactions
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate effectively with teaching staff
- Adapt support techniques to accommodate developmental and grade-level differences
Qualifications:
- Experience working as a paraprofessional in early childhood, elementary, middle, or high school settings
- Ability to provide dedicated 1:1 assistance tailored to individual student needs
- Familiarity with special education practices and caseload management
- Strong communication skills and collaborative approach with educators and families
- Patience, empathy, and adaptability in fast-paced learning environments
