Location: Howard University Hospital – Washington, DC
Role Summary
The Business Intelligence Analyst II supports data-driven decision making across Howard University Hospital by designing, developing, and maintaining business intelligence solutions that transform complex healthcare data into meaningful insights.
Working closely with operational leaders, clinical teams, and IT partners, this role develops dashboards, reports, and analytics tools that support performance improvement, operational efficiency, and strategic planning. The Business Intelligence Analyst II leverages data from multiple systems to identify trends, measure outcomes, and provide actionable insights that support hospital leadership and departmental stakeholders.
What You’ll Do
- Design, develop, and maintain dashboards, reports, and data visualizations that support hospital operations and strategic initiatives
- Extract, analyze, and transform data from multiple healthcare and enterprise systems to support reporting and analytics needs
- Collaborate with clinical, operational, and administrative stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into technical solutions
- Develop and maintain SQL queries and data models used for analytics and reporting
- Monitor data quality and integrity to ensure accurate and reliable reporting
- Support data governance practices, including compliance with privacy and security standards such as HIPAA
- Identify trends, patterns, and performance opportunities through data analysis and visualization
- Provide technical expertise in the use of business intelligence tools and data visualization platforms
- Document reporting processes, data definitions, and analytical methodologies to support consistency and knowledge sharing
Required Qualifications
Education
Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Computer Science, Healthcare Informatics, Statistics, or a related field required.
Experience
- Minimum of 3–5 years of experience in business intelligence, data analytics, or healthcare data analysis
- Experience developing dashboards and reports using Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases
- Experience working with large datasets and translating complex data into meaningful insights
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with healthcare data systems or clinical data environments
- Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL processes, or healthcare analytics platforms

Position Details
Status: Full-Time | Exempt
Work Location: Onsite – Washington, DC
Pay + Schedule
Schedule: Monday – Friday
Salary Range: $80,000 – $105,000
