Job Summary
As a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), you will play a vital role in providing professional nursing care for residents of all ages in long-term care settings. Under the supervision of a registered nurse, advanced practice provider, or physician, you will:
- Demonstrate knowledge of nursing principles relevant to resident care.
- Ensure the health, comfort, and safety of residents.
- Administer medications and treatments as ordered.
- Document resident interactions and care outcomes.
- Work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team.
- Communicate effectively while maintaining confidentiality.
- Counsel residents and families on prevention and treatment plans.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
To thrive in this role, you should meet the following qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited practical nursing program as a Licensed Practical Nurse; an Associate degree is preferred.
- If required, completion of an IV Therapy course approved by the North Dakota Board of Nursing.
- Must have supervised clinical experience or a minimum of 400 hours as an LPN at another facility.
- Hold an unencumbered LPN license with the State Nursing Board.
- Complete required annual continuing education units (CEU) and competency training.
