Minimum 1+ years Paraprofessional or Special Education experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
Support an elementary student with a low IQ and PTSD in a full-time paraprofessional role within a school setting in Lebanon, NH. This contract position spans from ASAP through June 2026, offering approximately 32.5 to 35 hours per week. The role requires hands-on assistance to foster the students growth and well-being through specialized support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) techniques, including discrete trial training, to address behavioral challenges.
- Collaborate closely with teachers and other staff to create a supportive learning environment.
- Monitor and document student progress and behavioral data.
- Assist with daily classroom activities tailored to the students unique needs.
- Encourage positive social interactions and emotional regulation skills.
Desired Qualifications and Experience:
- Prior experience working in schools as a paraprofessional is essential.
- Proficiency in ABA strategies and behavior management, specifically discrete trials.
- Ability to work full-time hours consistently during the school year.
- Compassionate, patient, and adaptable to the needs of students with special challenges.
