Responsibilities
- Welcome patients warmly, explain procedures, and ensure comfort throughout their visit.
- Prepare treatment rooms and maintain OSHA-compliant sterilization and infection control protocols.
- Capture appropriate radiographs, impressions, and intraoral scans.
- Record medical and dental histories, vitals, and charting information.
- Provide chairside assistance to the doctor, including instrument transfer, suctioning, and procedural support.
- Fabricate and cement temporary crowns, assist with cord packing, impressions, and whitening treatments as qualified.
- Placement of Invisalign attachments for clear aligner therapy
- Educate patients on treatment plans, post-operative care, and oral health maintenance.
- Maintain accurate documentation and assist with treatment presentation.
- Coordinate lab cases, prescriptions, and follow-up communication with patients.
- Support larger sedation or surgical cases and monitor nitrous oxide when applicable.
- Participate in team training, continuing education, volunteer days (including our annual Day of GoodWill), and office culture initiatives.
Schedule & Hours
- 32 hours per week average
- Monday – Thursday: 6:30 a.m. – 3:00 p.m. (includes setup and huddle)
- Select Fridays as needed for surgical/sedation cases
- One annual volunteer day (Day of GoodWill in November)

Requirements
- North Carolina X-Ray Certification
- BLS/CPR certification
- Previous dental assisting experience 2+ years
- Knowledge of digital dentistry workflows (iTero, CEREC)
- Strong communication, organizational skills, and patient-first mindset
