Position Overview

We are seeking an Underwriting Analyst to join our team in Aventura. In this role, you will support the underwriting process for real estate development and multifamily communities by assessing risk, reviewing financial data, ensuring compliance, and enabling informed investment decisions. This is a hands-on, analytical role for someone who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to contribute to high-quality sustainable housing developments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Analyze financial statements, property operating data, and market metrics to assess risk and support underwriting decisions.
  • Evaluate project feasibility, loan structures, DSCR (Debt Service Coverage Ratio), loan-to-value, and other underwriting metrics.
  • Coordinate with acquisition, development, and finance teams to gather required documentation and ensure underwriting files are complete.
  • Work closely with third-party partners (appraisers, title companies, property inspectors) to validate inputs.
  • Monitor project performance, review assumptions for variance, and flag potential issues or over-exposure.
  • Use tools, software, and data sources to model scenarios, stress tests, and sensitivity analyses.
  • Assist in drafting underwriting memos and presenting analyses to senior leadership.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Real Estate, Economics, Accounting, or related field.
  • 2–4 years of underwriting or financial analysis experience in real estate development, multifamily housing, or similar.
  • Strong quantitative and modeling skills (Excel proficiency, experience with underwriting software preferred).
  • Familiarity with real estate metrics: NOI, Cap Rates, DSCR, LTV.
  • Attention to detail, ability to analyze large data sets, and identify discrepancies.
  • Excellent communication skills; ability to present findings clearly, both written and verbal.
  • Must be able to work on-site in Aventura, Florida.
