An experienced Registered Nurse with Emergency Department expertise is sought for a contract role in Tularosa, NM. This position demands a minimum of two years of nursing experience, with recent experience in Level 1, 2, or 3 trauma emergency care. The role involves managing a range of patient conditions, from clinic-type cases to critical events such as strokes, STEMIs, trauma, and complex post-surgical and pregnancy complications, including pediatrics and behavioral health cases.
Responsibilities:
- Deliver nursing care consistent with ANA Scope and Standards, utilizing comprehensive assessment, diagnosis, planning, intervention, and evaluation.
- Manage complex patient situations with independence and clinical judgment, including psychological, emotional, cultural, and social needs.
- Administer medications and treatments per protocol, monitoring effectiveness and side effects.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient history, symptoms, medications, and care.
- Educate patients, families, and caregivers regarding care plans and health management.
- Comply with OneCHRISTUS Competencies as a Leader of Self, Others, or Leaders.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
- A minimum of 2 years experience in an ED environment with Level 1, 2, or 3 trauma cases.
- Current RN license in New Mexico or compact.
- Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), PALS (AHA), and TNCC.
- Completion of New Nurse Orientation or residency if newly licensed.
- Demonstrated competency through designated training and ongoing annual verification.
Schedule & Work Type:
- Full-time position with 3 PM to 3 AM shift.
