Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a dedicated Special Education Teacher to support students in a school setting located in New Port Richey, FL. This contract position invites experienced educators to contribute their skills in fostering positive learning environments for students with special needs across various grade levels, including Early Childhood, Elementary (K-5), Middle School (Grades 6-8), and High School (Grades 9-12).
Key responsibilities include:
- Delivering instruction tailored to individual education plans (IEPs) within self-contained, ESE classrooms.
- Managing student behaviors effectively while ensuring curriculum goals are met.
- Collaborating in the development and implementation of IEPs and Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).
- Monitoring student progress and adapting teaching strategies to meet diverse learning needs.
Qualifications and experience desired:
- Proven experience working in ESE/self-contained educational settings.
- Thorough understanding and involvement in the IEP and BIP processes.
- Valid Florida Educators Certificate appropriate for the grade level assigned (K-6 for Elementary or K-12 for Middle/High School).
- Strong behavior management skills with the ability to maintain a supportive, structured classroom environment.
