Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Deaf Education, active DHH teaching certification, and 1+ years Teacher of the Deaf / Hard of Hearing experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

An opportunity exists for a dedicated Teacher specializing in Deaf and Hard of Hearing education at a middle school level. This position offers a full academic year contract, providing the chance to make a meaningful impact on students educational journeys by supporting their munication and learning needs.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Utilize specialized teaching strategies to support language acquisition, literacy, and academic progress.
  • Collaborate with speech therapists, audiologists, and general education teachers to create an inclusive learning environment.
  • Monitor student progress and adjust instructional methods accordingly.
  • Facilitate the use of assistive technology and munication devices.

Qualifications and Desired Experience:

  • Certification and/or licensure in teaching students who are deaf or hard of hearing.
  • Experience working with middle school-aged children.
  • Knowledge of American Sign Language (ASL) is highly desirable.
  • Strong organizational and munication skills.
  • Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet diverse learning styles.
