Supply Chain Manager – Exempt

The supply chain manager of Hanwha Aerospace USA is responsible for overseeing all the steps that make up the supply chain process. It begins with looking after the product, from when it’s in the raw material stage to when it becomes available for sale to planning, develop, manufacture, as well as do the logistics and distribution of the product
Location: Based in Cheshire, CT,
Reports to: Director, Global Procurement

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Evaluate whether to buy a part, produce it internally or choose to purchase from a third party (make/buy) decision for manufacturing operations and special processes.
Negotiate long term supplier contracts and define contract terms.
Conduct supplier capacity review to evaluate the supplier’s ability to produce the requirements over the contract period by meeting both performance and quality standard from contract inceptions.
Conduct new supplier evaluations.
Examine the process at hand and take steps for improvement and cost reduction.
Maintain good relationships with vendors and ensure that the flow of materials remain unhampered.
Arrange the distribution of the product and ensure that sales can be achieved effectively.
Manage internal team of buyers
Various other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
Participate in training as required
5-10% Domestic Travel required
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift, push, or pull at least 35 lbs.
Regularly required to sit, stand, reach, bend, and move about our facility
Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree (Engineering degree preferred) or equivalent work experience.
7+ years Aerospace Manufacturing Experience with knowledge of special processes, FBI, MPI, ECI, ETCH, Heat treatment, EDM, painting, milling turning and grinding preferred.
Proficient in using Microsoft Office products.
Prior use of MRP system (syteline preferred) as well as Bidding software.
Deadline oriented individual a must.
