Nursing degree, active registered nurse (RN) license and minimum 1+ years Stepdown RN experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Provide advanced patient care within a Progressive Care Unit (PCU) setting at a hospital specializing in a blend of Medical-Surgical and Stepdown services. This travel nursing position offers an opportunity to apply critical care nursing skills in a dynamic environment, providing support for patients with complex conditions such as heart failure, sickle cell disease, and other medical-surgical diagnoses.

Location: Richmond Hill, GA (serving a nearby hospital in Savannah, GA)
Richmond Hill is a welcoming community known for its suburban charm and proximity to coastal Georgia. With access to beautiful scenery, recreational activities, and a warm southern climate, this location offers a quality lifestyle balanced with professional opportunities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver comprehensive nursing care to adult patients on the PCU (Candler 4N unit, 12 beds).
  • Monitor patient telemetry and manage set-rate drips with precision.
  • Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams including nurse aides and respiratory therapists to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
  • Serve as charge nurse when assigned, guiding team workflow efficiently.
  • Maintain documentation and pull own labs as part of patient assessments.
  • Participate in unit-specific orientation with a computer skills assessment and preceptored shifts to ensure smooth integration.
  • Adhere to the dress code of navy scrubs and uphold unit protocols.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Current RN licensure with at least 2 years of hospital experience in a similarly sized and acuity-level facility.
  • Successful completion of a minimum of one previous travel nursing contract.
  • Valid ACLS and BLS certifications are required.
  • Strong PCU skillset including telemetry monitoring and drip management.
  • Ability to navigate a self-scheduling system, working every other weekend and holidays as required.
  • Willingness to comply with a strict 100-mile radius rule, excluding local candidates.

This role is an excellent fit for RNs seeking to broaden their expertise in a critical care stepdown unit with supportive orientation and a collaborative environment. The travel assignment provides flexibility and exposure to high-acuity care beyond your current experience.

Enhance your nursing career with this rewarding travel opportunity in the coastal region of Georgia. Apply now to advance your skills in an engaging PCU setting.
