TITLE: CREW WORKER
PURPOSE OF CLASSIFICATION:
The purpose of this classification is to perform unskilled to semi-skilled and manual labor work in the maintenance of the City’s roads, sidewalks, and utilities, or the collection and disposal of the City’s refuse.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
The following duties are normal for this position. The omission of specific statements of the duties does not exclude them from the classification if the work is similar, related, or a logical assignment for this classification. Other duties may be required and assigned.
- Performs general laboring tasks in one of the following areas: sanitation, transportation, wastewater treatment, and water filtration.
- Participates in cleaning equipment and performing preventive maintenance; makes minor repairs to equipment.
- Operates a variety of trucks and equipment in performing tasks.
- Inspects equipment and assigned work area for safety hazards.
- Flags traffic.
- Observes all safety rules and guidelines.
- Assists in the repair and construction of the water system.
- Mows grass and maintains landscaping.
- Maintains buildings, lakes, and dams.
- Maintains vehicles and equipment, including chemical feeders.
- Assists Maintenance Mechanic and operators.
ADDITIONAL FUNCTIONS:
Performs other related duties as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
High school diploma or GED; or any equivalent combination of education, training, and experience which provides the requisite knowledge, skills, and abilities for this job.
