Physician – Correctional Healthcare | $275,000–$325,000 + Full Relocation & Signing Bonus
Overview:
New Start Staffing is seeking a compassionate and experienced Physician to lead and deliver high-quality medical care in a secure correctional facility in California City, CA. This newly created role offers a rewarding opportunity to provide essential healthcare services to underserved populations. A full relocation package and signing bonus are available, and compensation is negotiable based on experience.
Position Summary:
As a Physician with New Start Staffing, you will play a critical role in delivering direct patient care, overseeing clinical operations, and promoting best practices in a correctional healthcare setting. You’ll work closely with medical staff, nursing teams, and administrators to ensure effective, ethical, and timely care.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct patient evaluations, diagnose conditions, prescribe treatments, and monitor care outcomes.
- Provide clinical leadership and guidance to nursing and healthcare staff.
- Oversee daily medical operations, including rounds and minor surgical procedures.
- Collaborate on individual health plans and participate in interdisciplinary care meetings.
- Maintain accurate and timely medical records in accordance with policy and regulation.
- Ensure compliance with standards set by regulatory and accreditation bodies.
- Participate in safety audits, policy development, and emergency response protocols.
- Deliver health education and counseling to patients when appropriate.
- Maintain confidentiality and adhere to all HIPAA, ethical, and legal standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Graduate from an accredited school of medicine.
- Current license to practice medicine in the state of California (or willingness to obtain).
- Board Certification required.
- Valid driver’s license.
Additional Information:
- Work Setting: In-person at a correctional facility housing both male and female individuals.
- Travel: Not required.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Salary Range: $275,000 – $325,000 annually (based on experience)
