Plan and establish the production schedule in a complex multi-location environment. Successful person will monitor inventories, track production progress and work closely with production supervisors, purchasing, production planners, and sales. Detail-oriented, strongly-skilled with ERP, and communicates timely and effectively throughout the organization.

Summary: The Production Scheduler develops production schedules in accordance with sales forecast, plant and employee capacity, and new business opportunities. Monitors material inventories, tracks progress of production, and reviews factors that affect schedules. Initiates work orders to the appropriate department when revisions are made to the schedule. Ensures work orders are closed accurately and timely by working with production supervisors. Plans and establishes production schedules to meet customer demands. Provide backup to production planners as needed.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Plan and prepare the Master Production Schedule
  • Identify "must ship", priority level and hot orders
  • Monitor daily production status to ensure ship dates are met.
  • Establish and manage accurate production schedules and related operations utilizing a fully integrated ERP system.
  • Primary contact for Inside Sales for scheduling concerns and delivery dates
  • Participate in, review and advise on capacity planning.
  • Monitor daily production status to ensure ship dates are satisfied. Re-plan operations where necessary.
  • Facilitate and participate in routine production planning meetings.
  • Manage shop floor calendar
  • Schedule production resources (equipment and manpower) to maximize capacity and insure production efficiency related to run standards.
  • Effectively communicate schedule requirements, status and changes within RFC.
  • Prepare part and/or customer analysis reports upon request
  • Assist with coordinate warehouse preparation, scanning, auditing and reconciliation of annual physical inventory.
  • Perform a variety of administrative tasks requiring knowledge of applicable systems and procedures.

While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts and fumes or airborne particles. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.

Schedule: This position is non-exempt (overtime pay eligible) will primarily work eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be Monday to Friday, 8AM to 5PM or similar.

Applicants Will Have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent years of training and experience.
  • Three or more years’ related production scheduling experience including:
    • strong understanding of sales/production planning order entry functions
    • developing, integrating, and maintaining complete production plans, master schedules and forecasts in a make-to-order and make-to-stock environment
    • using and maintaining a MRP system utilizing customer forecast data
    • working with EDI
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills are strongly desired, as well as the ability to be flexible in a dynamic environment.
  • Computer proficiency with Microsoft office products and ability to learn/use manufacturing software Global Shop Solutions.
  • US Person to meet ITAR/EAR requirements
  • Experience with production planning, inventory management, clerical skills, data entry, and report development also preferred.
