Experienced Powder Coat Line Supervisor - 1st Shift

Weller Metalworks is currently seeking a Powder Coat Line Supervisor.

Job Type: Full-time Monday thru Friday; 7:00am – 3:30pm. If business demands increased or production is behind there will be a need for additional hours during the week and or overtime on Saturday. The Manager of the Department will communicate these needs.

CANDIDATES MUST HAVE PREVIOUS POWDER COATING OPERATIONS EXPERIENCE, HANDS ON COATING EXPERIENCE AND SUPERVISORY EXPERIENCE TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THE POSITION

Job Overview: As a Supervisor in the Powder Coating department, you will be responsible for the following:

· Oversight and direction of 15-20 employees on 1st shift

· Training of new employees on all job responsibilities in the department.

· Starting the line or verifying the line is started properly each working day.

· Managing the daily workflow through the department to meet the demands of production.

· Monitoring the loading and unloading of parts on and off the powder coating line.

· Confirming the Quality of part masking and the plugging of holes and threads on parts that are being powder coated.

· Understanding the Quality requirements dependent on the customer paint class

· Prepping parts in order of the production schedule on the powder line prior to coating. (working with the hangers to verify work orders are not being overlooked)

· Monitoring the packaging of parts and customer orders prior to shipment or being moved to Inventory.

· Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment and meet daily production schedules.

· The daily responsibilities will require multi-tasking.

· Daily and timely email communication with Manager, HR, and other co-workers

Required Qualifications:

· Ability to read and write English.

· Must be a strong and thorough communicator, able to provide detailed oral and written instructions.

· Eager to bring your skillset into an advanced manufacturing facility.

· Must be a detail-oriented person willing and able to contribute to a team effort.

· Begin and finish each day with a zero-defect mentality and commitment to producing a quality, American made product.

· Must be familiar with the equipment on the line and able to trouble shoot problems effectively.

· Powder coating application experience necessary, 2-3 years preferred.

· Previous Supervisor experience necessary, 2-3 years minimum. Managed at least 8-12 people in past working experience.

· Proficient computer skills.

Physical Requirements and Duties:

· Ability to reach, turn, twist, and walk.

· Ability to stand for the duration of a work shift.

· Ability to lift 35 lbs. at a time.

Preferred Qualifications:

· Forklift experience a plus.

· Previous experience working with an ERP system or scheduling system

· Previous exposure to OEM Quality standards

This position will report to Brian Connell, the department Manager.

The hourly rate of compensation will be determined by experience.

Performance/merit reviews are given annually on the employee’s anniversary date (hire date).

Employees are paid on a bi-weekly basis.

After 3 months of service, Supervisors are eligible for a $300 performance bonus if the company quality goals are achieved each month. (98% or better on-time shipping, under 200 PPM, and compliant attendance)

Beginning the 1st of the month following 60 days of employment, an employee is eligible for health benefits. We offer three plans to choose from thru Blue Cross and Blue Shield: PPO, PPO Choice, and HMO.

· Weller Metalworks covers 70% of the employee’s medical benefits and 50-70% for your dependent(s)

· Dental, Vision, and Life AD&D are available at a nominal cost thru Principal

· Supplemental coverage thru Colonial is available at a nominal cost:

Accident Insurance, Critical Illness, Short Term Disability, Whole and Term Life Insurance

After 90 days of Employment:

· Eligible to participate in our 401K Plan thru TransAmerica

· Paid Holidays: New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, the day after Thanksgiving, Christmas (a list of company holidays are provided at the beginning of each year). Time off around holidays is awarded through a holiday lottery by department.

What you can expect after your first 6 Months of Employment:

· 5 business days of sick/personal time (unscheduled)

· 10 business days of vacation time (scheduled with 3 days prior notice)

This time is pro-rated for the first calendar year of employment depending on the hire date of the employee.
