- Current and valid certifications in special education
- Proven experience in teaching within an Adaptive Self-Contained classroom
- Strong understanding of individualized education plans (IEPs) and related policies
- Excellent communication and collaborative skills
Location:Washington, DC area
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement tailored lesson plans for students in grades 6-8, focusing on individual learning goals
- Collaborate with instructional assistants to create a supportive and engaging classroom environment
- Monitor student progress and adjust teaching strategies as needed
- Communicate regularly with students, parents, and administrative staff regarding student development
- Ensure a positive and structured classroom atmosphere, addressing any behavioral challenges with appropriate strategies
