Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
An opportunity is available for a Part-Time Virtual Special Education Teacher to support students in middle and high school grades through a virtual academy setting. This position serves the Vance Virtual Academy and requires a commitment from now through June 11, 2026.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide specialized instruction and support to students in grades 6-12 with special education needs, focusing on resource and STEM coursework.
- Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) virtually.
- Collaborate with school staff, families, and administrators to ensure student progress and success.
- Maintain accurate records and communicate regularly regarding student performance.
- Participate in virtual meetings and planning sessions.
Qualifications and Experience:
- Valid North Carolina Special Education (SPED) teaching certification.
- Experience teaching special education students in middle and/or high school.
- Ability to effectively deliver instruction in a virtual learning environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
- Comfortable managing caseloads typical of resource and STEM programs.
Position Details:
- Location: Virtual, serving students in the Henderson, NC area.
- Schedule: Part-time, Monday through Friday, 25 hours per week plus 1 hour for planning.
- Term: Immediate start through June 11, 2026.
