Job DescriptionRegistered Respiratory Therapist Overview:
A Registered Respiratory Therapist delivers direct respiratory care to patients as per physician directives and serves as a knowledgeable consultant for healthcare professionals regarding respiratory treatments. This role necessitates the completion of an accredited respiratory care program, obtaining state licensure, and certification from the National Board for Respiratory Care. The position involves utilizing various respiratory equipment in acute care environments, often requiring teamwork in emergency and critical care situations.

This role entails providing direct patient care across all facets of respiratory therapy, following physician orders. The therapist will also advise physicians on the effectiveness of treatments and serve as an advanced resource for both physicians and nursing staff regarding respiratory care. Additional responsibilities will be assigned as needed.
Position Details:
- Qualifications
- Education: Graduate from a CoArc accredited Respiratory Care program.
- Licensure: Must meet state licensure criteria and possess a current Respiratory Care Practitioner (RCP) license.
- Experience: No prior experience required.
- Certifications: Must hold the Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) credential from the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). For those working in the Emergency Room, PALS certification is required.
- Other: Physical demands include the ability to push, pull, and grip up to 50 lbs, as well as pinch up to 10 lbs. Minimal kneeling, crouching, and crawling may be necessary. Equipment utilized includes all relevant respiratory care devices.
- Preferred Education: Acute Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification.
