Job Description

The Electrical Optical Systems Test Engineer is responsible for designing, measuring, and analyzing electrical-optical metrology systems used in LCD, OLED and LED micro-display and integrated optical products. The Test Engineer focuses on system integration, test development, data evaluation, and technical support for both engineering and production environments.


JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Integrate photopic and vision/imaging measurement systems, including driving electronics and micro displays, into laboratory and automated production test platforms

• Conduct PCB analog and digital design activities including component selection & verification, schematic design, PCB layout, design evaluation and system integration

• Develop and compile software code to program test equipment I/O communications using C, C++, Python, Labview, or Matlab.

• Familiarity with graphics video standards desirable (e.g., MIPI, HDMI, DisplayPort)

• Plan and conduct DUT testing: Design of Experiments (DOE), Repeatability and Reproducibility(R&R), Statical Process Control (SPC)

• Develop and maintain test solutions for system and subsystem integration, including functional and document results, prepare evaluation reports, and technical specifications

• Support and maintain production test equipment, test programs, and/or debug processes for low to high complexity assemblies, and/or systems released to product

• Train and supervise manufacturing personnel in the use and support of production test equipment, test programs, and/or debug processes for low to high complexity assemblies, and/or systems

• Assist manufacturing engineering processes, monitor product quality, performance and yields

• Perform DUT failure analysis using DMAIC process


MINIMUM JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Kopin is a defense contractor and is subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). You must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident (green card holder) to be considered for this position.

• B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, or equivalent

• 1 – 3 years Electronics, Optics, Software and Test experience

• Experience integrating electrical and/or optical test systems (lab or production)

• Ability to read, analyze, and design analog and digital PCB schematics, including component selection and evaluation

• Ability to develop or modify basic test software using one of the following: C, C++, Python, LabVIEW, or MATLAB

• Able to document test results, write evaluation reports, and follow engineering change and test development process

• Proficient in problem solving, oral/written communications, planning, organizing and quality control


PREFERRED JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Experience with CCD Vision Systems and/or Machine Vision is a plus

• Ability to program I/O peripherals in LabVIEW, C, C++, Python a plus

• Technical knowledge in related areas of light physics

• Display and/or video experience


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

Able to rotate from sitting to standing, lift up to 50 pounds, and gown according to clean room protocol


**The annual salary range for this position is $80,000 to $89,000, plus bonus**
