Correctional Nurse Practitioner (Family or Adult-Gerontology) – Dayton, OH

Location: Dayton, OH (Onsite – Correctional Facility)
Schedule: Monday – Friday (Weekdays Only)
Shift Options:

  • 4x10-hour shifts OR
  • 5x8-hour shifts
  • Start/End Times:
  • Based on facility operations (flexible within set hours)
  • Start Date Target:

April 20th (if all screenings are cleared)

Duration: ~3 months (with possible extension)

Position Overview

We are seeking a Family or Adult-Gerontology Nurse Practitioner (NP) licensed in Ohio to provide on-site primary care services to the female incarcerated population in a correctional healthcare setting.

This is a full-time weekday role with no evenings, weekends, or holidays, offering a structured schedule and opportunity to make a meaningful impact in a highly specialized clinical environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide primary care services to adult female patients in a correctional setting
  • Perform patient assessments, diagnosis, treatment, and follow-up care
  • Manage acute and chronic conditions
  • Deliver evidence-based clinical care within established protocols
  • Collaborate with facility and healthcare staff to ensure continuity of care
  • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation
  • Ensure compliance with all facility safety and healthcare regulations
  • Support smooth patient flow and care coordination

Required Qualifications

  • Active Ohio Nurse Practitioner license
  • Certification as Family NP or Adult-Gerontology NP
  • Minimum 1 year of NP experience in:
  • Primary care OR
  • Hospital medicine
  • Active Board Certification (ANCC or equivalent)
  • Current BLS/CPR certification (Healthcare Provider level)
  • Active DEA registration

Required Submission Documents (Mandatory – No Exceptions)

All candidates must include:

  • Updated resume with education details (location + graduation year)
  • Cover letter
  • Right-to-represent (RTR)
  • Ohio NP license verification (eLicense)
  • Board certification (ANCC or equivalent)
  • BLS/CPR certification
  • DEA certification
  • Completed correctional healthcare onboarding packet

Additional Requirements (if applicable):

  • US Passport or Naturalization proof (if born outside U.S.)

Pre-Start Screening Requirements (If Selected)

  • TB test (less than 30 days old)
  • Drug screening (HireRight – 9-panel)
  • Must be initiated within 48 hours of offer acceptance
  • All clearances must be completed prior to start date

Facility & Compliance Notes

  • No cell phones permitted until onboarding approval is completed
  • Security screening required (metal detector clearance)
  • Restrictions on personal items (no tobacco, vapes, cans, etc.)
  • Food/drinks must be in clear containers (max 1 gallon water)
  • Strict compliance environment; incomplete submissions will be rejected
