Job Title: Research Associate I - PHCS
Job Description
Responsible for conducting research, development, and manufacturing laboratory experimentation and other scientific activities to support projects. This role involves exercising technical expertise and discretion in the design, execution, and interpretation of experiments that contribute to project strategies. The role also includes preparing technical reports, summaries, protocols, and quantitative analyses, as well as presenting and discussing experimental results within the department and project team.
Responsibilities
- Execute laboratory experiments, make detailed observations, and analyze data.
- Prepare technical reports, summaries, and quantitative analyses.
- Maintain complete and accurate records and laboratory documentation.
- Follow company policies and procedures for GMP, GLP, Design Control, and others as appropriate.
- Make suggestions to improve work processes.
- Assist in reducing to practice patentable inventions.
- Work on projects of moderate scope requiring analysis of identifiable factors.
- Exercise judgment within defined procedures and practices to determine appropriate action.
- Participate in cross-functional technical team activities.
- Present and discuss data within the group.
- Monitor work to ensure quality and continuously promote Quality First Time.
- Conduct experiments independently as a principal investigator.
Essential Skills
- Proficient in laboratory research, Excel data entry, and word processing software.
- Familiar with basic and some specialized laboratory techniques.
- Skilled in searching scientific literature.
- Competent in using word processing, spreadsheets, and graphical and presentation software applications.
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant science field.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Experience in retail or food service roles is beneficial for demonstrating customer service and communication skills.
- Strong collaboration and ability to work with multiple stakeholders.
- Solid grasp of scientific principles, pathology, and development processes.
- Hands-on wet lab skills are required.
- Flexibility to move between tasks and adapt to changing priorities.
Work Environment
The work environment is collaborative and inclusive, emphasizing teamwork and professional growth. The site is located in Oro Valley, AZ, offering scenic views, a supportive work environment, and a balance between lab work and personal life. The role is part of the Diagnostics division, focusing on assay development, reagent production, and molecular diagnostics. The site encourages open dialogue and genuine connections among employees, with opportunities for learning new lab techniques and contributing to publications. Hours M-F 8a-5p.

This is a Contract position based out of Oro Valley, AZ.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $23.00/hr.
