SUMMARY
Seeking a Temporary Associate Scientist to support cosmetic formulation and product development initiatives within a laboratory environment. This role focuses on researching ingredients, developing and improving formulations, conducting product testing, and ensuring regulatory alignment. The ideal candidate is scientifically curious, detail-oriented, and motivated to contribute to innovative personal care solutions while collaborating across internal teams.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Investigate new and existing raw materials to support formulation objectives
• Prepare cosmetic lab batches for development, testing, evaluation, and stability studies
• Scale formulations from lab to pilot levels while maintaining product integrity
• Adjust and refine current formulas to enhance stability, performance, and sensory attributes
• Conduct laboratory experiments to assess ingredient functionality and product efficacy
• Optimize formulations to achieve targeted characteristics such as texture, viscosity, and appearance
• Support in-vitro and in-vivo testing activities and assist with data collection and analysis
• Partner with internal evaluation teams to coordinate product and consumer testing initiatives
• Monitor emerging ingredient technologies and market trends to inspire innovation
• Perform scientific literature reviews and share findings with cross-functional teams
• Collaborate with commercial teams to align formulation development with customer and market needs
• Ensure formulations comply with applicable regional and global cosmetic regulations
• Review safety documentation and maintain organized records to support regulatory requirements
• Communicate technical findings clearly through written reports and presentations
QUALIFICATIONS
• Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Cosmetic Science, Biology, or a related scientific discipline
• 0–2 years of experience in cosmetic or personal care product development
• Foundational knowledge of ingredient functionality and formulation principles
• Experience with laboratory techniques such as stability testing and analytical evaluation
• Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret experimental data
• Effective written and verbal communication skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications
• Ability to manage tasks independently while contributing within a collaborative team environment
