Senior Helpers has proudly provided professional in-home care services in the Des Moines area for over 17 years and is now growing in Ames. We are seeking a compassionate, organized, and motivated Office Manager/Caregiver to staff our Ames office while also supporting clients in the field when needed.

This unique hybrid role is perfect for someone who thrives in both an administrative leadership position and hands-on caregiving. You’ll play a key role in ensuring smooth office operations while also making a direct impact in the lives of seniors in your community.

What You’ll Receive:

  • Competitive pay: $17.00–$23.00 per hour (based on experience)

Your Role

This position combines office management with hands-on caregiving support in the Ames area.

Office Management Responsibilities

  • Answer and manage incoming and outgoing phone calls with professionalism
  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to the team
  • Maintain organized filing systems and databases
  • Support hiring efforts, including candidate interviews and onboarding
  • Assist with project tracking, deadlines, and operational tasks
  • Conduct research and assist leadership with special projects
  • Ensure excellent customer service for clients and families

Caregiver Responsibilities (as needed)

  • Assist clients with activities of daily living (bathing, dressing, meal prep, light housekeeping)
  • Provide companionship and emotional support
  • Help maintain a safe, comfortable, and dignified home environment
  • Step in to support care coverage in the Ames area when needed

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • A team-oriented mindset with a willingness to jump in where needed
  • Administrative experience (2+ years required)
  • Experience in home care, healthcare, or senior services preferred
  • Comfortable using Microsoft Office and general office systems
  • Professional phone presence
  • Reliable transportation and ability to travel within the Ames area
  • Compassionate, dependable, and service-driven attitude
