A full-time school speech therapist opportunity is available in Smithfield, VA, focusing on pediatric speech-language pathology within an educational setting. This contract position spans the entire school year, providing a consistent and impactful role supporting student communication development.
This role is ideal for both experienced clinicians and Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY) candidates seeking hands-on experience in pediatric speech-language pathology. The position requires onsite availability throughout the school year, allowing you to collaborate directly with educators and families to support students' speech and language needs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations for students in the school setting
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans tailored to pediatric clients
- Provide direct therapy services to students with speech and language disorders
- Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other professionals to support student progress
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with school and district regulations
- Participate in team meetings and contribute to multidisciplinary approaches for student success
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's degree in Speech-Language Pathology from an accredited program
- Eligibility for or holding state licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist
- CFY candidates encouraged to apply
- Experience or interest in pediatric speech therapy within schools
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
