Location: Yuma, AZ 85364
Employment Type: Full-Time
Shift: 12-Hour Nights (Modified Self-Scheduling) Emergency Department Highlights

  • 52 ED beds with 4 trauma bays
  • 6 Fast Track beds
  • Separate quick-look triage areas (ESI utilized)
  • ER holds are intermixed within the department
  • No dedicated psych/seclusion rooms
  • Security staffed in-house 24/7
  • Dedicated CT and X-ray within the ED
  • Respiratory Therapy assigned 24/7 (ABGs, nebulizers, vents, CPAP)
  • Equipment includes Glide scope, Hamilton and Phillips ventilators

Patient Ratios

  • 1:5 – Medical patients
  • 1:6 – Fast Track patients

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of Emergency Room experience
  • Must have Level I or Level II Trauma experience within the last 2 years (candidates with only Level III or lower trauma experience will not be considered)
  • Experience with Gunshot Wounds (GSW) and Stabbings preferred
  • Ability to read and interpret telemetry strips
  • Experience in ER, ICU, or Critical Care within the past 3 years

Required Certifications

  • BLS
  • ACLS
  • PALS
  • NIHSS
  • TNCC (Preferred)

Clinical & Support Structure

  • ED physicians and mid-level providers staffed on varied shifts (including pediatric board-certified coverage)
  • Charge-free environment; House Supervisor available for support
  • ED Techs (2+ years’ experience) perform EKGs, vitals, labs, splints
  • PCAs support patient care
  • RNs read their own telemetry; monitor tech available
  • No dedicated phlebotomy; ED techs and RNs draw labs
  • RN accompanies critical patients to CT when necessary

Scheduling Requirements

  • Varied shift starts times (7 AM, 10 AM, 11 AM, 12 PM, 1 PM, 3 PM)
  • Modified self-scheduling
  • 4 weekend shifts per 4-week block
  • Typically, 2 of 5 major holidays (including eves)
  • Shared scheduling with Foothills freestanding ER (approximately 15 minutes away); floating is infrequent and typically scheduled in advance
