About the Role:
The Drive Thru Sales position at our lumberyard location in Kearney, NE, plays a critical role in delivering exceptional customer service and efficient sales transactions in a fast-paced environment. This part-time position focuses on assisting customers through the drive-thru by accurately processing orders, providing product information, and ensuring timely loading of materials. The role requires strong communication skills and product knowledge to help customers make informed purchasing decisions while maintaining a positive and professional demeanor. The successful candidate will contribute to the overall operational success by supporting inventory management and collaborating with warehouse staff to fulfill orders promptly. Ultimately, this position is essential in enhancing customer satisfaction and supporting the smooth flow of sales operations within the lumberyard setting.
Minimum Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Basic math skills and ability to operate point-of-sale systems.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members.
- Availability to work part-time hours, including Saturdays and holidays as needed.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Previous retail or customer service experience, preferably in a lumberyard, warehouse, or construction materials environment.
- Familiarity with lumber and building materials terminology and products.
- Experience using inventory management software or warehouse management systems.
- Ability to lift and carry materials up to 50 pounds safely.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
Responsibilities:
- Greet customers promptly and courteously at the drive-thru, providing knowledgeable assistance regarding lumberyard and warehouse products.
- Accurately process sales transactions using point-of-sale systems, handle payments, and issue receipts while maintaining attention to detail.
- Communicate effectively with warehouse and inventory teams to ensure timely and accurate order fulfillment to customers.
- Maintain a clean and organized drive-thru area, ensuring safety protocols and company standards are consistently followed.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve any issues or concerns professionally to uphold a high level of customer satisfaction.

Builders is open Monday through Saturday. Hours will vary to adequately cover the department. Every other Saturday is required.
