Cobalt Aero Services, an FCA Aerospace brand specializes in maintaining, repairing, and overhauling nacelle components, thrust (fan) reversers, and other aircraft structural components for the commercial and military sectors.
What you will be doing…
- Lead and manage the Quality Assurance program, ensuring compliance with internal policies and external regulations, including Safety Act designation.
- Oversee internal audits, assessments, and inspections to ensure adherence to quality and safety standards.
- In coordination with the VP/GM,developand implement company policies and procedures related to quality assurance and regulatory compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance, safety regulations, and audit processes.
- Identify and address risks, ensuring continuous improvement in compliance and quality standards.
- Ensure contract and station compliance in line with company and regulatory requirements.
- Assists, supervises and directs all personnel assigned to inspection and nondestructive testing.
- Collects and maintains a file on work orders and inspection forms in such a manner that the specific file pertaining to an assembly or unit can be located within a reasonable length of time.
- Performs periodic checks on inspection tools and precision test equipment.
- Develops and maintains a system of keeping records of checks and calibration of inspection tools and precision test equipment within the required calibration period.
- Executes FAA Form 337 and the maintenance release pertinent to all items released to service by the repair station.
- Supervises preliminary, hidden damage, inspection continuity, and final inspection of all items processed repair station.
- Executes and submits Service Difficulty Reports as required.
- Ensures that rejected and unserviceable parts, after proper identification, are returned to the customer, or with the customer's permission, are properly disposed of.
- Maintains “Roster of Management, Supervisory and Inspection Personnel” in a current state.
- Ensures that all materials subject to shelf life are properly controlled and inspected on a regular basis and removed from service when the shelf life expires.
- Maintains and makes available a current library of all required maintenance manuals, service bulletins, service letters, airworthiness directives, FAA regulations, etc.
- Establishes and administers a corrective action system to identify quality problems and bring about their prompt, satisfactory resolution.
- Prepareinformation for submissiontothe FAA, including updates on the repair station's capabilities.
- Performs review inspections on aircraft and componentsas necessaryto monitor the quality of work performed and the adequacy of standards and equipment.
- Performs occasional/random work package audits to ensure that documentation is maintained in accordance with Federal Aviation Regulations.
- Directs the performance of “self-audits” of internal quality systems, at the request of the customer.
- Assists in preparing budgets and manpower forecasts.
- Analyzes and interprets quality datatodevelop methods, procedures, and systems to improve the Quality Assurance functions.
- Performs special assignments and projects, as directed by the VP/GM of Cobalt.
What we are looking for…
You will need to have:
- Minimum of 5 years in aviationleading quality team/inspectors
- Preferred candidates will possess anauditor’squalification/certificate from an industry recognized program (E.g. IATA, ICAO, ASQ).
- Experience working in Part 145 Repair Shop
- Demonstrated experience with Quality Assurance and audit processes, including:
- Developing the audit plan including proper management for all phases of audit.
- Conducting the audits in a consistent manner, adhering to guidelines, forms, and templates
- Conducting follow up activities, closing findings and quality control.
- Delivering the audit report within the required period.
- Familiarity of AS9100 requirements and guidelines for Quality Standards.
- Experienceinapplying for and renewals of all pertinent certificationsand working with regulating bodies.

- Detail-oriented and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Airframe and Powerplant Certification or Repairman’s Certification

- Subject to an annual vision test.
- Employees are subject to the FAA/Drug/Alcohol program.
- Must be proficient with Microsoft Office 365 platform.
