Position Overview
The Plant Manager (Baking) will oversee the daily operations of the baking facility, ensuring efficient production processes, maintaining product quality, and driving continuous improvement initiatives. The role requires strong leadership skills to manage a team, P&L ownership, and a thorough understanding of food manufacturing practices to meet production goals while adhering to safety and regulatory standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the baking plant to ensure efficiency and productivity.
  • Manage P&L, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost control to meet financial targets.
  • Implement Lean Manufacturing principles to enhance processes and reduce waste.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and quality control standards.
  • Lead and develop the production team, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
  • Monitor inventory levels and coordinate with supply chain management to optimize production schedules.
  • Develop and enforce maintenance schedules for equipment to ensure operational reliability.
  • Collaborate with other departments to align production goals with overall company objectives.
  • Conduct training and development programs for staff to enhance skills and ensure compliance with HACCP and other safety protocols.
  • Identify and resolve operational issues through effective problem-solving techniques.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Food Science, Engineering, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in plant management within the food manufacturing industry.
  • Proven experience in Lean Manufacturing and P&L ownership.
  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations and quality control processes.
  • Experience in team leadership and employee development.
  • Familiarity with inventory management and supply chain processes.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
