We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a Professional Engineer (PE) License to lead roadway and highway development projects. This role involves managing project schedules and budgets, ensuring regulatory compliance, and guiding a team of engineers while collaborating closely with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage roadway/highway development projects from inception to completion
- Ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations
- Develop and maintain project schedules, budgets, and quality management plans
- Coordinate with civil, traffic, environmental, and architectural teams
- Manage subconsultants and multidisciplinary project teams
- Conduct risk assessments and develop mitigation strategies
- Prepare and review project documentation including reports, invoices, and proposals
- Facilitate project meetings and communicate effectively with stakeholders
- Support business development efforts including proposal writing and client presentations
- Mentor and coach team members through performance management and project debriefs
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree from an ABET-accredited Civil Engineering program
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- 5+ years of experience in roadway/highway design and project management
- Strong knowledge of highway design standards, construction methods, and regulatory compliance
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Bentley MicroStation, and Open Roads Designer
- Skilled in Microsoft Office and project scheduling software
- Experience managing budgets, schedules, and stakeholder communications
- Familiarity with geotechnical engineering and environmental regulations
Preferred Experience
- CAPM or PMP certification
- Experience with local clients at the county and state levels
- Knowledge of multiple project delivery methods (Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3)
- Business development and proposal experience
