Job Description

We are looking for a Controls Technician to support installation, programming, and servicing of building automation systems across commercial and industrial environments. This role works with advanced control systems to optimize HVAC performance, energy efficiency, and system reliability. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience with platforms such as Niagara (N4), Honeywell, or Schneider Electric and is comfortable working both in the field and with system programming. This position plays a critical role in ensuring building systems operate efficiently and meet client expectations.

Responsibilities

  • Install, program, and commission building automation and control systems for HVAC equipment
  • Troubleshoot and diagnose issues with control systems, including hardware, software, and network components
  • Work with platforms such as Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric to configure and optimize system performance
  • Interpret control drawings, wiring diagrams, and sequences of operation
  • Perform system testing, calibration, and startup to ensure proper functionality
  • Coordinate with project managers, electricians, and HVAC technicians during installation and service work
  • Provide technical support and training to clients on system operation and maintenance
  • Maintain accurate documentation including service reports, as-builts, and system updates
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, codes, and company procedures

Requirements

3+ years of experience in building automation or controls systems

Hands-on experience with Niagara N4, Honeywell, or Schneider Electric platforms

Strong understanding of HVAC systems, electrical controls, and low-voltage wiring

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and sequences of operation

Experience with system integration, networking, and communication protocols (BACnet, Modbus, etc.)

Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills in field environments

Ability to work independently and manage multiple service or project tasks

Technical degree or certification in HVAC, electronics, or a related field preferred
