The LAZ Hospitality silo is a unique team within LAZ Parking dedicated to growth through operational and financial excellence. The Hospitality team specializes in Hotel Partnerships across the country and excels at developing relationships through training, human connection, and career development for our employees and partners.
The Spirit of the Position:
The Assistant Hospitality Finance Manager supports The Hospitality Finance Manager with complete oversight of the financial success of the region in addition to the direct management of the finances at the largest hotel in the portfolio, The Hyatt Regency Chicago.
Principal Job Duties:
- Responsible for financial reporting and ticket reconciliation at The Hyatt Regency Chicago.
- Support The Hospitality Finance Manager in month-end reconciliation of revenue reports to ensure accuracy of all documents provided to the Client Reporting Services team.
- Assist The Hospitality Finance Manager in the financial training and development of location managers and assistant managers.
- Ensure accurate financial reporting across the portfolio and provide additional training as needed.
- Compile, analyze, and present data to identify operational needs and determine solutions.
- Investigate and address reporting issues through collaboration with the National Hospitality Team.
- Additional duties as assigned.
People
- Attend and present data at regular internal financial analysis meetings and other meetings as scheduled by clients.
- Assist with the management and development of the Hospitality team to accomplish annual and periodic goals/initiatives, while embodying and using LAZ Parkings culture as a guideline.
- Conduct financial training for new managers and existing managers in need of additional training.
- Identify high potential employees to support the organizations continued growth, both within your region and outside.
- Actively participate in the recruiting and onboarding process for prospective employees.
- Ensure all financial concerns in the portfolio are reported to The Hospitality Finance Manager for review and collaboration on resolutions.
Product
- Drive financial results and establish goals by monitoring and responding to data from internal audits, ensuring all locations in the portfolio are compliant with financial standards.
- Responsible for cultivating client relationships and business retention.
- Implement and complete other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise at The Hyatt Regency Chicago or as assigned by The Hospitality Finance Manager.
- Understand, implement, and deliver all requirements that are outlined within the contractual agreement between LAZ Parking and our clients.
Profit
- Responsible for ensuring LHIST data is entered daily and accurately at The Hyatt Regency Chicago.
- Conduct daily ticket reconciliation at The Hyatt Regency Chicago and ensure revenue capture percentage is in compliance with company expectations.
- Investigate and manually post any unpaid tickets identified in the reconciliation process.
- Compile and present data to assist location managers in adherence to budget and revenue enhancements as it relates to staffing, scheduling, and operational expenses.
- Prepare, analyze, and present daily, weekly, monthly, and annual financial and operational reports.
- Assist with the monitoring, review, and analysis of market rate structures.
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree or equivalent work experience in Accounting, Business Administration or Computer Science is preferred, but not required.
Experience:
- Prior experience in the hospitality industry is preferred.
- Previous experience with financial reporting and revenue reconciliation is preferred.
- Previous supervisory or management experience is preferred.
- Experience with data visualization software such as Tableau, Power BI, and/or Looker Studio a plus.
- Programming ability in SQL, Python, C#, or Go a plus.
- Valid drivers license required.
- Previous experience working in a fast-paced environment with high customer expectations.
- Knowledge of Excel, Word, Power Point and General Microsoft Office Applications.
