Job Description

About LTE Care Plus

LTE Care Plus is a growing ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) therapy organization dedicated to delivering evidence-based care to individuals with autism spectrum disorder and other
developmental disabilities across New York City, Long Island, and Westchester County. Our team is expanding, and we are building the HR infrastructure to support that growth, which means every role we hire right now has real scope and real ownership.

The Opportunity

We are looking for a Benefits Specialist with experience in healthcare or behavioral health who can take full ownership of employee benefits administration for our organization. This is not a support role; you will manage benefits end-to-end, ensure compliance with federal and New York State requirements, and serve as the go-to resource for our employees on all benefits- related matters. If you have worked in ABA therapy, home care, behavioral health, or a similar field-based healthcare environment, you already understand the workforce we serve. That context matters here. Our employees range from BCBAs and Behavior Technicians to coordinators and administrative staff. Each group has distinct needs, and we need a Benefits Specialist who can navigate them.

What You'll Do

Benefits Administration

• Administer all employee benefit program medical, dental, vision, life, disability, FSA/HSA, and ancillary plans.

• Manage new hire enrollment, qualifying life event changes, and annual open enrollment from start to finish.

• Serve as the primary point of contact for employee benefits questions, claim issues, and enrollment support.

• Reconcile carrier invoices monthly and resolve billing discrepancies promptly.

• Coordinate COBRA administration, including qualifying event notices and election tracking.

Compliance & Reporting

• Ensure all benefits programs comply with ACA, ERISA, HIPAA, COBRA, FMLA, and applicable New York State regulations.

• Prepare and file ACA reporting (1094-C / 1095-C) accurately and on time.

• Monitor regulatory updates and advise the HR Director of any changes impacting compliance.

• Support audits with accurate benefits data and complete documentation.

Leave Management

• Administer FMLA, NY Paid Family Leave, Short-Term Disability, and other applicable leave programs.

• Track leave usage, coordinate return-to-work processes, and manage ADA interactive process documentation in partnership with the HR Director.

• Communicate leave rights, timelines, and obligations clearly to employees and managers.

Systems & Data

• Maintain accurate benefits data in the HRIS and reconcile carrier data files regularly.

• Generate enrollment and utilization reports for HR leadership as needed.

• Support the development of benefits SOPs, workflows, and employee-facing guides.

What You Bring

Required

• 2–3 years of benefits administration experience in a standalone or specialist capacity.

• Solid working knowledge of ACA, ERISA, COBRA, FMLA, HIPAA, and New York State leave laws.

• Demonstrated experience managing open enrollment end-to-end.

• Experience with HRIS and benefits administration systems.

• Strong attention to detail and data accuracy, you do not leave records incomplete.

• Clear, professional communication skills, able to explain complex benefits information to employees at all levels.

• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities without constant direction.

Preferred

• Experience in ABA therapy, behavioral health, home care, or a similar healthcare setting.

• Familiarity with field-based or caregiver workforces and the benefits considerations unique to those populations.

• CEBS, PHR, SHRM-CP, or related certification.

• Bilingual in English/Spanish or English/Haitian Creole.

Why LTE Care Plus

• Competitive pay: based on experience.

• Real ownership, you manage benefits end-to-end, not just process paperwork.

• Direct access to HR leadership in a growing, mission-driven organization.

• Opportunity to build benefits infrastructure, not just maintain it.

• Collaborative environment across HR, operations, and clinical teams.

• Meaningful work: your role directly supports the people delivering care to our clients every day.
