The City of McMinnville is looking for an energetic and experienced Heavy Equipment Operator for our Water Maintenance Department. This position plays an important role in maintaining the water and sewer lines throughout the City. Position will operate various heavy equipment as well as hand powered tools and manual tools. Examples of equipment operation include front-end loaders, bulldozers, and backhoes, etc. in a variety of maintenance and construction tasks.
This is a non-exempt hourly position with starting pay of $20.30. The position offers opportunity for growth through obtaining collection and distribution licenses.
Hours are Monday through Friday, 4 - 10 hour days. On-call requirements are 1 week every 8-10 weeks with additional pay.

Minimum Requirements
- HS degree or equivalent
- Possession of a valid Class B CDL or ability to obtain within 6 months
- One year of experience in the operation of heavy equipment
- Must be able to lift, move, and carry up to 75 lbs.
Job Functions
Performs work such as ditching, laying water and sewer lines and shouldering black top
Maintains equipment for inspections and resolves mechanical problems
Works on water and sewer construction projects
Operates a backhoe and loader in construction and maintenance of water and sewer lines
