Manufacturing Engineer – Lean Leader

About Us
At Align Production Systems, we design and build advanced material handling and automation equipment for the toughest industrial challenges — from aerospace and automotive to defense and beyond. Our mission is simple: smarter, safer, and more efficient production environments.

We’re growing, and we’re looking for a Manufacturing Engineer who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is ready to take the lead on lean management, process optimization, and quality excellence.

Your Impact
This isn’t just another engineering role — it’s a chance to shape how we manufacture at scale. You’ll be at the forefront of continuous improvement, partnering with fabrication and welding teams, driving lean transformation, and making sure every design release hits the shop floor with precision and efficiency.

  • Be the Lean Champion: Lead The Align Way — direct observation, daily problem solving, and continuous improvement — making lean principles part of our DNA.

  • Elevate Quality: Lead weld inspections, quality audits, and process improvements in our metals/fabrication department, ensuring world-class standards.

  • Own the Process: Drive the engineering-to-manufacturing release process, participate in design release and reviews, and track KPIs to measure performance, efficiency, and quality.

  • Solve Big Problems: Use data and root cause analysis to tackle production issues and implement creative, sustainable solutions.

  • Collaborate Across Teams: Be the critical link between Mechanical Design Engineering and Manufacturing, ensuring smooth transitions and optimized designs.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering (or equivalent experience)

  • 3–5 years in lean management, field installation, or manufacturing engineering

  • Proven success implementing continuous improvement initiatives

  • Hands-on experience with KPIs, root cause analysis, and problem-solving on the shop floor

  • Strong communicator and cross-functional collaborator

  • Willingness to travel up to 25% for field operations

Bonus points for: capital equipment manufacturing experience, ERP/project management system knowledge, or leading design review processes.

Why Align?

  • Competitive pay: $75,000–$85,000

  • M - F, 1st Shift Schedule

  • Strong benefits package

  • Professional growth and leadership development opportunities

  • Be part of a company that values innovation, lean excellence, and real-world impact
