Description

Under the supervision of the UCLA Cardiac Imaging Medical Director, Operations Director, Manager\nand Supervisor, the Senior Echocardiographic Technician perform all\n2-dimensional, M-mode, and Doppler studies including Stress echocardiogram, Pharmacological\nstress echocardiogram, and Transesophageal echocardiograms. The Senior\nEchocardiographic Technician must have at least three years of direct cardiac\nsonographer experience and be registered through American Registered Diagnostic\nMedical Sonography (ARDMS) in adult echocardiography (AE) RDCS or pediatric\nechocardiography (PE) RDCS. The Senior\nEchocardiographic Technician notifies (By Pager) Cardiac Imaging Physicians for\nany URGENT, STAT and/or Pre-Operative Echo Readings. Prepare preliminary interpretation of those\nstudies. Prepare and maintain records pertinent to echo studies. Perform other duties as assigned and directed\nby the UCLA Cardiac Imaging Physicians, Manager, and Supervisor.


Salary Range: $61.46 - $81.12 hourly

Qualifications

Required:

  • BLS certificate
  • Ability to be Registered (ARDMS ) in adult cardiac\nechocardiography (AE) RDCS .

  • \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

    Successful completion of a cardiac echocardiography\ntechnology program.

  • Ability to deliver basic cardiac life support (BCLS).

  • Ability to read, interpret, apply, and/or follow physician\norders, policies, procedures, or written and verbal instructions.

  • Strong interpersonal skills to effectively interact with\npatients, physicians, nurses, staff, and others in a professional and courteous\nmanner.

  • Ability to work independently and complete tasks in a timely\nmanner with minimal to no direction.

  • Ability to prepare and maintain log of procedures, track\ncharge documents, compare activity records, and determine that all studies are\nbilled and collected for.

  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to make preliminary evaluations\nof echo studies to generate written preliminary reports.

  • Knowledge, skill, and ability to use P.C. and word processing\nsoftware to generate written preliminary reports.

  • Skill and manual dexterity to manipulate transducer and\nbuttons, and knobs on the echo machine to obtain optimal studies.

  • Ability to push the 500+ lb. echo machine for distances up to\n100 feet within the office.

  • Ability to apply theory to practice in the application of\nultrasound technique to the clinical evaluation of the target anatomy.

  • Knowledge and ability to apply knowledge of cardiac anatomy,\nphysiology, and pathophysiology.

  • 3 years of Adult echo tech experience
