The Position
We are seeking a Traveling Superintendent to lead field operations on commercial construction projects in active, high-traffic environments. This is a hands-on leadership role for a superintendent who thrives in fast-paced settings, knows how to drive schedule and quality, and can confidently coordinate subcontractors, vendors, inspectors, and client stakeholders on-site.
What You’ll Do
- Manage day-to-day field operations from mobilization through closeout
- Lead site supervision for commercial construction projects, with an emphasis on safety, quality, and production
- Coordinate subcontractors, material deliveries, inspections, and field logistics
- Maintain and drive the project schedule, identifying issues early and keeping work on track
- Partner closely with project managers, clients, architects, engineers, and inspectors
- Conduct site meetings and communicate progress, constraints, and solutions clearly
- Review plans, specs, RFIs, and submittals to ensure accurate execution in the field
- Travel as needed to support projects in multiple U.S. markets
Requirements
- 5+ years of superintendent experience in commercial construction
- Experience managing projects in occupied or operational environments strongly preferred
- Background in aviation, transportation, retail, hospitality, or other fast-paced public-facing projects is highly valued
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, sequencing, safety, and quality control
- Ability to read and interpret construction documents, schedules, and specifications
- Proven success coordinating multiple trades and keeping projects moving under tight timelines
- Strong communication and leadership skills with a solutions-oriented mindset
- Comfortable with travel and extended time on project sites as needed
- OSHA certification preferred
- Proficiency with construction management technology, reporting tools, and daily logs preferred
