We are looking for a skilled Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) Investigator to join a team in Wilmington, Delaware, on a long-term contract basis. In this role, you will play a critical part in monitoring financial transactions and ensuring compliance with anti-money laundering regulations. This position is ideal for professionals experienced in financial investigations and regulatory compliance, particularly within banking environments.


Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth investigations of escalated alerts, unusual activity reports, and enhanced due diligence cases to identify suspicious financial activities.

• Utilize advanced analytical tools and systems to assess customer account transactions and make informed decisions.

• Ensure compliance with internal policies and procedures, as well as regulatory requirements related to anti-money laundering and terrorist financing.

• Prepare and submit comprehensive suspicious activity reports (SARs) in accordance with filing requirements.

• Manage complex cases involving high-risk transactions, international wires, and structured cash schemes.

• Compile and organize evidence and documentation to meet regulatory standards and support investigative conclusions.

• Stay updated on trends in money laundering and terrorist financing, including regulatory changes and industry best practices.

• Collaborate with management to escalate non-compliance issues and recommend resolutions.

• Build awareness of broader risks affecting the organization across various lines of business.

• Support organizational goals and values by aligning investigations with strategic objectives.

• Bachelor’s degree in Business or a related field, or equivalent work experience with some college coursework preferred.
• Minimum of 3-5 years of experience conducting case investigations and analyzing suspicious financial activities.
• Proven expertise in preparing and filing SARs and handling complex financial accounts.
• Familiarity with banking products and services, particularly within savings and loan institutions.
• Strong skills in financial analysis, modeling, variance analysis, and ad hoc reporting.
• Proficiency in data mining techniques and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
• Solid understanding of anti-money laundering laws, PATRIOT Act regulations, and compliance standards.
• Ability to manage high-volume workloads and meet strict deadlines in a dynamic environment.
